Oriain Pottery was established in 1997 by John Rayn, and since then has gone from strength to strength making a name as one of Irelands top studio potters, making both functional and decorative pieces that reflect the rural landscape where he is based.

Ballindoon Priory Dominican Priory was founded by the McDonaghs in 1507. It is entirely build in the Middle English Gothic Style.The north east of the building is a bullaun stone known as St. Dominic’s Stone. The top of the stone takes the form of a cup shaped hallow, almost always filled with water, and is supposedly a certain cure for warts.
