Nearby Attraction: Maeve’s Grave

Overlooking Carrowmore megalithic cemetery on the summit of Knocknarea Mountain is a huge flat-topped cairn called ’Miosgan’ Meadhbha (Maeve’s Cairn). Folklore suggests it was build for the mythical Maeve, the Iron Age Queen of Connacht.

Approaching Sligo on any of mayor roads or from Sligo Town follow signs for the airport (R292). On Reaching Strandhill village, continue signs right to Airport Road, and just before the airport take a right turn opposite the Caravan Park. Turn immediately left and continue on this road, Lar Easa Cove, to No. 10.
